Shawna Mcleod National Aboriginal Day 2016

What does National Aboriginal Day mean to you?

"Aboriginal Day is a time to honour our elders and ancestors for what they have endured to give us a better life.  It is an opportunity to celebrate our diverse culture and unique heritage of the First Nations, Inuit and Metis people of Canada. It is also very important for us to recognize the outstanding achievements of our people, to share our courageous stories and to take pride in our rich culture and traditions." - Shawna Mcleod

We at SheNative have come to know Shawna through her affiliation with Tea & Bannock.

She is living in Yellowknife, NT with her family, photography is a passion of hers and has been since she was very young. We're very glad to have her share with us what National Aboriginal Day means to her. Thank you Shawna we look forward to following your work now and into the future!
